Mumtaz Is Alive! Daughter Tanya Madhwani Slams Actress’ Death Hoax
Yesteryear’s actress Mumtaz’s death hoax started making headlines since Friday night. Her daughter Tanya Madhwani and film director Milap Zaveri took to social media to dismiss the rumours and assured she is very much alive and healthy
Since Friday
night, death hoax of veteran actress Mumtaz started doing the rounds on social
media. Soon after her family members came forward and rubbished the rumours of
her death. A family member told PTI, "She is alive, fit and fine. She
wants to know why everybody is spreading false news." Not only this, yesteryear
actress’ younger daughter, Tanya Madhwani too took to social media to slam the
rumours.
Tanya posted a video and captioned it as, “So exhausting, another rumour of my mother's death. She is healthy and looking beautiful as always and has asked me to let her fans know she is well! It's all rubbish.”
In the
accompanying video, she said: "My mother is fine. She is in London... She
is sending her love to you all." The hoax began with some social media
users, including key film trade experts, writing about Mumtaz's death on Friday
night.
Film director and writer Milap Zaveri also dismissed the rumours first, and tweeted, "Just spoke to Mumtaz aunty and her nephew Shaad Randhawa on conference. She is hale and hearty." While another Tweet said, “Mumtaz Aunty is alive and absolutely fine. Just spoke to her and @Shaadrandhawa her nephew. She would like for the rumors to stop.”

Meanwhile, trade analyst Komal Nahta too apologised for his tweet about Mumtaz’s death and wrote, “Extremely sorry for posting news about Mumtaz ji’s demise. By God’s grace, she is hale and hearty. The incorrect news is gaining ground in the film trade. But to set the record straight, Mumtaz ji is absolutely fine.”

Even last
year, rumours of Mumtaz's demise had done the rounds. The 71-year-old actress
is known for films like Do Raaste, Bandhan and Loafer.
